Florence Art and Dental Technology

Florence Art and Dental Technology

On 15 and 16 October the master course with Klaus Müterthies was held at the laboratory and milling centre Esthithec of Scandicci - Florence. We thank Mr Gianni Versari, for his collaboration and the wonderful hospitality extended to the participants.

On Saturday 17, the conference organised by the CNA of the Tuscany Region was held in the beautiful surroundings of the Museum of Palazzo Medici Riccardi, in the centre of Florence, and it saw a large turnout with the best ceramists in the area to the extent of exceeding the expected number.

After the greetings of Francesco Amerighi and Luigi Cleri, respectively CNA regional manager and national President, there was the intervention of Narcis Ros who honoured us with his presence to inform us of developments in the field of dentistry in Spain.

The first report of Giovanni Furno had great impact with a mixture of emotion and technique to achieve the results, presented in a simple and accessible way with the aid of videos to be even clearer in his explanations.

Then it was the moment of Klaus with his usual performance made of spectacular cases and imbued with his way of doing dentistry, that philosophy oriented towards the patient and to the top of aesthetics that has led him in time to be enshrined as one world's leaders in this sector.

Of course Klaus Müterthies gave his artistic finale by painting live one of his famous and much appreciated pictures and a very touching poem read by Eleanora Furno whilst crossing a Zen garden built by the skilled hands of her father Giovanni.

A special thank you to Klaus, to the people who have contributed with their work to the great success of the event and a special praise for the professionalism and patience of Francesco Amerighi who by the way I was able to appreciate for his qualities as a guide and for his historical knowledge of his city.

Finally to Giovanni Furno and his family who conceived and strongly wanted an unparalleled event, in a beautiful and thrilling place and made us return to the past and remember that Italy is a land of artists, and even dental technicians are artists, but not for this they have to give up their personality nor to fighting for the recognition of their work even in a difficult period of change like the one we are going through.
