A NICE STORY

A NICE STORY

Every day a battle. Italy today is a difficult country. Dentistry is losing the disruptive economic strength that it had until a few years ago and dental technology in the field of losses always manages to be the first. It is a rather sad situation.

I know that times are tough and in spite of being an optimist like no other, I realise that there are situations of dental technicians and also dentists who unfortunately are really struggling. Work problems, expensive investments that need to be made to keep up with technologies along with the continuous demand for price reductions seem to be taking over the situation.

In this hodgepodge there are also the families of all the people who work and it is quite common to go abroad when there is a good opportunity, to escape somehow from bureaucracy, taxes and a socio-economic situation that does nothing to help the youth, businesses that want to grow and even families.

In this new adventure with Art Oral I met a person who impressed me for his simplicity and I was surprised by the choices he has made following his deepest values which I also share. It is the story of Federico. With a great job abroad in one of the most cutting-edge laboratories of the moment, in a dreamlike place and popular destination for many, with the prospect of a fabulous career for his excellent skills what did he do?

Well, he packed his bags and went home to be with his family.

And he set up a laboratory in Italy, in a country and in a sector from which many are fleeing

I do not know well the specific reasons that made him return. Perhaps he could have got his wife to relocate, perhaps he could have waited a while before deciding ... I do not know. However I do understand how hard he must have been to be away from his son and wife, and I do admire those people who decide according to their deepest values and who take responsibility even if it means making a greater effort.

In any case, among the general chaos, I see labs that are doing well and going full blast. People who have made their specialisation and entrepreneurship their strong suit. Now there are many courses to teach dental technicians entrepreneurial skills but I have been lucky enough to meet many people in these 24 years of career that do not need them for sure. There are laboratories that work well and are managed well and I think that Federico with his skills can be successful in the Italian dental market driven by a highly charged motivation that comes from within his own home.

so to you, Federico, with your lovely family, I wish you the best of luck and great success!!!
